It is with a touch of sadness and ton of amazing memories that we wish our very own Isabelle Dunlop the very best. Bob-Rob-Lob-Knob-Bob (as we know her) has decided to leave the band in order to focus her energies on her other amazing band Combine the Victorious and of course her expanding fashion empire that is "Isabelle Dunlop Clothing"
Words can't express how awesome you are. Going to miss your voice, but you know you have our full support in whatever magic you create in the future! Uh, except when we play bocce. There are no friends on the bocce pitch.
Yes people, our band just became alot uglier and whole lot shittier at dancing. On the bright side, our bar tabs have been reduced significantly. Wait, that's not really on the bright side either.

02/25/12 - SWS Awakes From Hibernation
Well folks, 2012 is upon us now and SWS is awakening from a much needed slumber thanks to all that was in 2011. We've been busy writing like mad men and women these past several weeks, putting together ideas for our next album which we plan to release later this year.
To date we have a dozen or so experiements on the go, with things coming together quite quickly. We're approaching the writing process differently this time around, with all 6 members contributing songs and/or ideas to the process. In short, things are sounding really promising. Mind you, is any band going to say "Our new songs sound like shit! Super excited!". Nope.
As you can see from the picture above, we put as much thought into song titles as we do flushing the toilet. I mean, "Pant Pole"? That's like a penis, right?
Anywhoo, keep checking back for some teasers and vlogs from the next album as we move into the Spring!

10/26/11 - CMJ New York Press Round-Up!
Hey lovers,
Just returned from our whirlwind tour of Eastern Canada and New York City. WOW. What an experience for us. We met some amazing people, played some wicked cool venues, heard some truly inspiring new music and perhaps had a drink or two on the plane along the way. We won't be forgetting this journey any time soon. Actually, some of us forgot a few things, but that's another story.
We were fortunate to garner some cool press during our stop in NYC, starting with our band name (of course). NBC New York and OurStage both named "Sex With Strangers" one of the Top 10 band names at CMJ this year! Hey, any press is good press people. In addition, our showcase in New York received a favourable review from CMJ, which was cool. Did we mention New York was amazing?
10/13/11 - SWS Raises $1000 for Alzheimer's
Hi everyone,
Just getting ready to head out for our tour back east, but before we leave we wanted to let everyone know that we raised $1000 for Alzheimer's Society of BC during our fundrasier fashion show / live performance at The Waldorf last night. Our own Isabelle Dunlop did an amazing job with her fall fashion line as you'll see in these pictures. We also want to give a big thanks for our good friend Jasper Sloan Yip (Peak Performance Project) who joined us onstage last night.

09/20/11 - Live Performance on Urban Rush
Today we had the pleasure of performing live on television for the first time, as we debuted our new single "The Battle of Maple Tree Square" on Urban Rush! We recorded a demo of this song with legendar producer G-G-G-Garth Richardson during the Peak Performance Project bootcamp last month. That track will evenutally be made available for free download in the coming week, but unitl then, here's our first crack at it live!

09/09/11 - Peak Performance Showcase Details

Big night coming up for us on Thursday, September 22nd as we will be performing our big showcase for The Peak Performance Project at The Red Room in Vancouver. It should be an amazing night, with The Oh Wells, Ashleigh Eymann, SWS and The Boom Booms! The dance-floor will be rumbling to be sure.

08/25/11 - SWS Does the Peak Bootcamp!
Hello cyberfriends!
Well, we're off to an amazing start to the week here in beautiful Princeton, BC for the kick-off this year's Peak Performance Project Bootcamp. In less than 24 hours, we'll be performing a showcase in front of our fellow finalists and a group of judges, followed by a once in a lifetime opportunity to record a song with one of our heros, producer Garth Richardson (Rage Against the Machine, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Melvins, The Jesus Lizard...THE FUCKING JESUS LIZARD!). And that's just Day 1.

08/23/11 - Stickin' With Style Is Born!
Well, the Peak Performance Project competition is kicking into high-gear now. We're getting set to head off to "Bootcamp" next week with the other Top 20 finalists, in what should be an amazing 8 days of learning, performing and new adventures.
As part of the competition, we must complete a total of 5 challenges. The first of these challenges was to create a "viral video" to promote the Peak Performance Project and of course our band. So, without further delay, we give you the birth of "Stickin' With Style". Ah, kids.

08/15/11 - "Frontier Justice" Earns Top 10 Honours
Cool news today. The Vancouver Province named our new album "Frontier Justice" one of the Top 10 local CD's released this year! 07/25/11 - SWS Does Alberta
We just finished a rousing, weekend jaunt through the wilds of Alberta this past weekend. Great shows at Broken City in Calgary and Brixx up in Edmonton for The New Music West Festival. Of course we can't forget to mention another successful Edson Bocce Open!
Highlights included CBC Radio 3 naming our show in Calgary as one of the highlights of the Calgary Folk Festival, sharing the stage with none other than Tron from Fubar, and extreme bocc in Edson, Alberta on tghe way home.

Sex With Strangers has been selected as a Top 20 finalist for this year's 2011 Peak Performance Project! This is the thrid year for this highly regarded funding program, which is sponsored by Music BC and the BC-based radio station 100.5 The Peak. All Top 20 finalists were awarded $5000 in funds to use for furthering their music career, with the chance to earn a grand prize of $100,500! In addition to the funding, finalists are given the opportunitiy to learn from some of the music industry's finest during a week-long "bootcamp" in Princeton, BC.
